After School Programs

Hi teens! Welcome back! We're in a flexible time right now, and I'm ready and waiting to hear what YOU want to do.

The Winslow Public Library is forming a Wonder League Robotics team with the robots Dash and Dot. It will be rather intense league, consisting of a two hour weekly meeting for six months. Participants will be expected to attend each week. This meeting is for parents of interested children in order to explain the program, answer questions, and get a signed agreement of participation.

This program will run weekly on Thursdays from September 21, 2017-February 15, 2018, from 2:30-4:30 PM. Coaches will be Samantha Cote, Youth Services and Technology Librarian at the Winslow Public Library and Chris Dorman, STEM Liason at the Maine State Library. We will be running two teams for ages 9-12.  To be eligible for a 9-12 team, team members have to be turning 9 and/or turning no older than 13 as of Sept. 1, 2017-Aug. 31, 2018. Priority will be given to Winslow residents meeting the age requirement. We may be able to accept a non-resident or exceptional 8 year old if there is space.

Our popular Lego Club returns on Friday, Octuber 6 and will run weekly after that, from 2:30-4. It's open to any student in grades K-12. As usual, we will have plenty of Legos for you to build with, although you may bring your own if you wish. Students may put one item up on display for a month if they choose. When a month is over, the Legos go back into the bin so other students can use them!

Please contact Samantha Cote at if you'd like more information.

If you take the bus after school, please have a note signed by your parents allowing you to get off at a different stop. Here is an example of a bus note.
